The Maned Wolf looks like it has the fox genes, and the local word for it is aguarA? guazA?, which means ‘big fox’, but it isn’t related to a fox.

It behaves like a wolf, and it has physical characteristics of one. The Maned Wolf inhabits Paraguay, northern part of Argentina, Bolivia, some parts of Peru and Brazil.

It doesn’t live in packs, and it uses its urine for communication. Maned Wolf’s urine has a distinctive smell, and people often describe it as “similar to weed”!
